Liliana & her 4th of July "To Do" List

Liliana's 4th of July "To Do" List

Her Successfully Completed Activities from the first week of July:


  • Catch a lightning bug all by herself
  • Play with little sister
  • Help Grandma make a berry pie
  • Eat berry pie
  • Construct a mermaid palace using shells








  • Watch all the hopping frogs that big cousin Elijah caught and placed in a bucket with lily pads
  • Help color in a "Happy Birthday" banner for Aunt Emily, Uncle Jeremy, and Cousin Rachel (and then eat cake)
  • Fill a pan with sand and water to use as a beach scene for playmobile toys

  • Sing through our patriotic book pile

  • Learn to do log rolls in the grass
  • Eat smores made over a bonfire 
  • Listen as Uncle Jeremy reads The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe aloud at bedtime
  • Talk with Aunt Emily and "help" her pack baby clothing
  • Go to an antique store
  • Blow bubbles
  • Spill the bottle of bubbles
  • Find more bubbles
  • Sail boats in the pool and splash in the water
  • Pick and eat gooseberries and black raspberries


  • Peak in at the baby robins nesting in the black raspberry bush
  • Walk Elijah's dog

  • Help Grandma water flowers
  • Pick lots of flowers
  • Pick peas and green beans from our garden

  • Ride the rocking horse with cousin Maren
Note that Maren's best friend of the week, Uncle Sam is riding the horse too!
  • Eat lots of outdoor meals, including salmon tostadas, fish tacos, and of course, popsicles
  • Say good-bye to cousins moving to Chicago area (we miss you so much already!)

    Laura Wingard-Plank: Well, Jody, if you decide to sport the white sailor hat/blue striped crops/white shirt, I don't actually recommend picking black raspberries in it, lol--Liliana had quite a few berry marks on her shirt afterwards!
