Blueberry Happy Pancakes

Blueberry Happy Pancakes

As soon as the girls awoke, we took a walk to the blueberry bushes and picked berries.  I made pancake batter, spooned them onto the skillet, and then I added the blueberries (plopping them onto the cooking pancakes and making a smiling mouth, eyes, and a nose).

Yay for Blueberry Happy Pancakes!

PS. Disclaimer: should you decide to recreate these, you should be aware that not all children prefer the happy face image.  One of my favorite memories from last summer was when I made these pancakes for my nephews who were visiting from Scotland.  After his first helping, I asked my nephew, Jonah, if he would like another pancake and if so, would he like plain or blueberry.  He looked up at me very solemnly and said, "I'd like another blueberry pancake, but can you please place the blueberries randomly?  I like randomly-spaced blueberries in my pancakes."  And of course, it is just as fun to make them sprinkle randomly when they are for someone you love, lol!
