A Meal from the Farm

A Happy Harvest Dinner





Silver corn picks
       August invariably means harvesting fresh produce and delighting in simple, staight-from-the-garden meals.  Our container pot garden yielded us squash, zucchini, and peas this year, but tonight's garden came from my father's fields.  We had corn-on-the-cob, tomato, and peppers all from Dad's farm.  And our beef came from his herd of cattle.  There is something so wholesomely delightful about partaking of food that you either sowed yourself or watched as it grew (plus I love the chance to take the silver corn picks out of the cupboard!). 
       Thank you, Heavenly Father, for providing us with such delicious food and such industrious family members...
